Comments: Since I left Cocoa when WW2 was over there are many many people I do not know who have moved there since that time. My great-grandparents were pioneer settlers in Cocoa and I grew up on the old home-stead on the Indian River. I attended Cocoa schools all the way from the 1st through the 12th grades having graduated in 1940. Some of my relatives still live in Cocoa/Rockledge/Merritt Island and Cocoa is still "home" to me. My husband, Banks Livingston, was stationed at Banana River Naval Air Station during the "big" war and we met and were married during the that time. We have attended many mosquito-beaters reunions and just hope we will get to attend this year. You are doing a great job and I for one really do appreciate all of your hard work in putting this together year after year.

Comments: I read each and every comment. CHS-class of '67. When I joined the Navy in 69, it took me to San Diego for the next 30 yrs. I came home as often as possible, but never to stay. Retired from the San Diego Fire Dept. in 99, and we moved to Montana to experience 4 real seasons. Our children(?), 33,34,35, live in Ca., and Wash., state. I am hoping to be home for our 40th reunion, if it happens, in 07. Would love to hear from some of the class of 67,68,or 69. Blessings to all, Mike and Trudie.

Comments: Graduated Cocoa High many a year ago and after traveling around the world, returned to live in Brevard with my husband Dick Curtis in 1995. I love the Mosquito Beaters' gatherings. It's great to greet old friends and make new. And, this web site is great. See ya round the county.

Comments: What a wonderful website. Thank You. I left Brevard County in 1986 and have missed living there every day I've been gone. I have made a new life in Arizona; but, my heart will always remain in Brevard County. Reading memories of others in the guestbook made for a nice journey back in time...attending B.C.C. and U.C.F. at the Cocoa campus; living in College Green and the Allen Apts. on Dixon Blvd.; the Dixie Diner and Fat Boys BBQ in Cocoa, "Vandyburgers" at the A&W in Rockledge, wet burritos from the Gas Light in Frontenac, Bernard's Surf in Cocoa Beach and the Pelican Point restaurant in Titusville and "Hell Fire and Damnation" sandwiches at the Village Country Store in Cocoa Village. Working at KSC for PRC in the 70's and 80's and all the wonderful co-workers I had. Going to the Mouse Trap on Friday nights or to the Banyon Tree at the Holiday Inn on Merritt Island. "Foxy" who taught disco dancing at all the clubs in the 80's. Shopping at Belk Lindsay at Byrd Plaza in Cocoa. Eau Gallie Speedway on Saturday nights. Hurricanes David and Frederick. Seeing the last Apollo mission and the first Shuttle. Living so close to Disney World. My dearest of friends Andy and Tim, Heidi, Liz and so many others who I miss dearly everyday. And the day I last left Brevard County and moved away. Reading your list of what constitutes a "Mosquito Beater" I made it for having cut a Christmas tree on Clearlake Road and seeing the Astro's in west Cocoa during spring training. Again, heartfelt thanks for such a wonderful website...it's nice to travel down memory lane once in a while.

Comments: I don't quite qualify, I was born July 28, 1951, and lived for a short time on Loveridge Lane. My dad was the project engineer on the Matador Missle, and probably was the guy who fired it on the 4th of July.

Web Admin comment: If you lived there in the 50's, you qualify!
