MOSQUITO BEATERS ANNUAL REUNION
March 14 - 16, 2008

Previous Reunion Photos in the Photo Gallery!

If you are interested in this event YOU ARE A MOSQUITO BEATER! We welcome you, your family and friends to join us as we preserve history and renew friendships of central Brevard county. In order for the Mosquito Beaters tradition to continue, we must have younger generations join us! Please encourage your children, grandchildren, etc. to attend and learn about their "roots!" If they are not enjoying themselves, we WILL NOT block the exit doors and make them stay! We just ask them to come and give this event a chance.

There is no charge to attend the reunion. However, your donations make the event possible. Without your support, we could not rent the facilities and certainly not print our Memory Book.

Please make sure you get and wear a name tag so we can know who all of our friends are!!

Thank you for your past and future support.

FRIDAY, MARCH 14th, 2008

The "renew old friendships and create new ones" gathering will be held 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14th at the Cocoa Civic Center, 430 Delannoy Avenue, Cocoa Village (the old public library).

Parking is ALWAYS an issue. There is parking along all of the streets in the Village. The Bank of America parking lot is just across the street and there are three public parking lots in addition to parking across Florida Avenue in a grassy field. Parking is also available at SunTrust Bank on 520.

Donations will be accepted for drinks and other expenses for the evening. If at all possible, please bring a small DISPOSABLE container of finger foods to share!!!

There will be a bar to quench your thirst with a donation jar. Without your generous donations this event could not happen each year.

SATURDAY, MARCH 15th, 2008

We will be holding the Saturday event at Kiwanis Island Park on Merritt Island from 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. March 15th. Turn North at the 2nd traffic light East of The Merritt Square Mall to enter the park. We will be in the main gym at the rear of the complex. There is plenty of parking if you are patient and park your car as straight as possible. Please reserve the closest spaces for handicapped parking.

Island BBQ of Cocoa will once again be providing a choice of chicken or pork with all the "fixin's" and iced tea for only $7.00. Complimentary coffee and orange juice will be available thanks to Sullivan Groves.

OUR ANNUAL MEETING
We conduct only one official business meeting yearly. At this time, we make plans for improving the event for the following year and elect officers. The next meeting will be held January, 2008 at the Historical Library, 435 Brevard Avenue, Cocoa Village. Please join us then and help make this event better each year!

We were very close to cancelling this event because we could not get enough chairpersons for the various committees. There were very few attendees at the business meeting. The people who attended have been there every year and work tirelessly to make sure this event keeps happening but we need energetic people with new ideas. Donating your valuable time will be greatly appreciated. If you are willing to volunteer your time to help plan this great event then contact:

PHOTOS AND STORIES NEEDED!!
If you have any photos of past "gatherings," we would love to have a copy with the people identified by name and year if possible. We are compiling a yearly photo album of Mosquityo Beater History.

You are encouraged to write a story about your memories of Brevard to add to the history of our great area for future Mosquito Beaters Memory books. You can send them to:
